Ian is a regulatory and commercial disputes lawyer in the Sydney office of Webb Henderson.
Ian has more than a decade’s experience working with a diverse range of clients including Australian regulatory agencies, corporations, and charitable and not-for-profit organisations. His experience extends to advising clients in relation to foreshadowed and ongoing regulatory investigations and enforcement action, particularly in the areas of competition and consumer law, digital platforms, financial services and general commercial law.
Since joining Webb Henderson, Ian has worked closely with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) to undertake complex regulatory investigations as well as to bring and respond to subsequent enforcement proceedings. He has had day-to-day carriage of several high profile regulatory matters, including actions arising from the Digital Platforms Inquiry and Financial Services Royal Commission.
Ian regularly practices as a general commercial litigator, and has appeared in Federal and State Courts and tribunals. He also acts for clients in relation to a range of commercial disputes.
Ian was first admitted to practice in 2012. He is admitted to practice in New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.
