Henry is a corporate partner in the Auckland office of Webb Henderson.
In 2020 Henry was named New Zealand Dealmaker of the Year at the prestigious Australasian Law Awards.
Henry specialises in corporate law, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and restructuring. His practice extends across the full value range of transactions, including early stage investments, family business sales, and public markets takeovers and schemes of arrangement.
Henry has advised a variety of entities in relation to New Zealand capital raising initiatives. He’s had a leading role in a number of the most significant recent New Zealand IPOs, including assisting Vulcan Steel on its IPO and listing.
In mergers and acquisitions, Henry has advised:
- Spark on the acquisition by OTPP of a 70% interest in Spark’s towers business;
- the founders of Ecoware on its sale to an Australian sustainable packaging business (majority owned by Adamantem Capital)
- Pacific Equity Partners on aspects of its investment into FirstCape, combining Jarden Group and National Australia Bank’s wealth advice and asset management businesses;
- Indevin Group Limited on the competitive bid and the subsequent acquisition of all shares in Villa Maria Estate Limited (in receivership);
- the owners of Telfer Young Group on the sale of their property valuation business to CBRE; and
- Tomlinson Group on the partial divestment of Argenta to KKR,
in addition to numerous other significant transactions.
In 2017, he was a finalist for Young Private Practice Lawyer of the Year at the New Zealand Law Awards and he is a noted practitioner in a number of legal directories.
