Graeme is a very experienced partner in our specialist Corporate and M&A team. Graeme is highly ranked by the leading international guides and has won prestigious awards, including Dealmaker of the Year. He’s led transactions that have recently won the NZ Law Awards M&A Deal of the Year (2023), Equity Market Deal of the Year (2022) and Restructuring and Insolvency Deal of the Year (2022).
Graeme has recently assisted:
- Fonterra Co-operative Group on all aspects of its ‘Flexible Shareholding’ capital structure;
- the NZ Super Fund on the sale of its interest in Kiwibank to the Crown;
- Tomlinson Group on the partial sale to KKR of Argenta;
- Macquarie Asset Management on its acquisition of a $200m cornerstone stake in Winton Land on that company’s IPO;
- Indevin on its acquisition of New Zealand wine producer, Villa Maria Estate;
- Spark on its creation of Connexa (its towers business) and its sale of a 70% interest to OTPP;
- Genesis Energy on strategic matters; and
- a number of other clients (both private and public) with both ongoing advice and transactional matters.
Graeme joined Webb Henderson in 2017, following more than 20 years as a senior partner in another leading New Zealand firm. Graeme is widely recognised for his astute legal and business judgement. He’s seen as a trusted adviser who successfully assists clients with market leading transactions and projects.
