Angus is an experienced practitioner, having worked for over 30 years in communications regulatory, wholesale, and commercial transactions in Australia, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and beyond. During this time, he worked for leading telecommunications operators in the sector on some of the largest telecommunications, pay-TV, and broadband deals.
Working extensively on prominent fibre-related projects in Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia, including for the operators responsible for building national fibre networks, he has particular expertise in the regulatory framework and the implementation of those frameworks.
Angus also acts for large international telecommunications and digital infrastructure companies rolling out and investing in 5G and global connectivity services.
A large proportion of Angus’ practice is devoted to the development of competitive regulatory models in the telecommunications and broadcasting industries. He provides extensive advice on deregulation of communication markets to operators and regulators throughout the Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East on these matters.
Angus has been recognised as a leading individual in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2023 (Band 1). He was also recently named as Telecommunications Lawyer of the Year (Sydney) 2022 by Best Lawyers following similar awards in 2015 and 2012, and in Who’s Who Legal (Telecoms and Media).
Angus is the co-editor of Communications Law and Policy in Australia.
