Reay is a litigator with over 30 years’ experience, specialising in securities law disputes, class action defence, litigation funding, directors’ duties and Corporations Act breaches, regulatory inquiries including by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), ICAC, and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), large scale contractual disputes, and corporate collapses and insolvencies.
He has an established conflict and referral practice, working with large and small law firms on dispute resolution matters. He’s cognisant of – and experienced in – the particular challenges of acting as co-counsel with other lawyers on complex matters.
Reay has developed a practice style that ensures quality control, while carefully delegating work to solicitors, counsel, and external experts to keep costs manageable.
His litigation practice is primarily conducted in the New South Wales and Victorian Supreme Courts (Equity and Commercial Lists) and the Federal Court.
