Irene is a corporate and commercial lawyer based in the Sydney office of Webb Henderson, with a focus on providing legal and regulatory advice to the telecommunications, media and technology sectors (TMT).

Her experience includes corporate restructuring; providing a range of legal and regulatory advice to the TMT sectors and drafting commercial agreements and industry codes of practice. Irene also has experience in writing submissions to, and engaging with, key government and regulatory stakeholders on policy and law reform issues.

Some of Irene’s recent experience includes:

  • Advising nbn on regulatory matters relating to its Fixed Wireless Fair Use Policy and Enterprise Ethernet services
  • Industry representation and engagement with key government and regulatory stakeholders on policy issues impacting the data-driven industry, including: Review into Open Banking Australia, Data Portability and the Consumer Data Right; Productivity Commission’s Inquiry into Data Availability and Use; ACMA Inquiry into recommendation 6 of the ACMA Review Report; Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme; Australia’s Digital Economy; Digital Innovation in Australia
  • Draft and negotiate industry codes of practice, including for the responsible and ethical use of data and to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Undertake the corporate restructuring of a peak industry body and advising on legal and commercial issues, including preparation of key agreements and documents

In 2018 she was appointed to the Law Society of NSW Privacy & Data Committee and elected as the Co Vice Chair of the Communications, Entertainment and Technology Law Committee (NSW Young Lawyers).

Prior to joining Webb Henderson, Irene worked at the Australian Alliance for Data Leadership, where she managed legal and regulatory matters across its brands, including ADMA, DGA, IAPA, D+TC.

Irene joined Webb Henderson in 2018.
